Gate introduced Gate Money on Oct. 7 during a TOKEN2049 keynote by founder and CEO Dr. Han.
Built around the idea of "One Gate, Everything Money," Gate Money is positioned as an integrated financial services app that connects digital assets, fiat currencies, stocks, ETFs, gold, bank accounts, payments and wealth management services within a single account. Gate said the product is meant to cover asset holding, receiving funds, transfers, payments, conversion and yield generation.
Single account for fiat and digital assets
Users can access Gate Money by updating the Gate App to version 8.39.0. The service allows users to manage multiple fiat currencies and digital assets under one account, while also supporting fiat and on-chain deposits, withdrawals and transfers.
Eligible users can also upgrade to obtain a same-name bank account for receiving funds and withdrawals.
Payments, conversion and yield features
Gate Money also supports the use of different asset types held in the account, including stocks, for everyday spending. Gate Card can be used for online and offline purchases with either fiat or digital assets, and it can be linked to digital wallets including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
For asset conversion, Convert supports exchanges between assets, while Earn provides yield products. Gate said balances in assets including USDT can earn up to 3.6% without any lock-up requirement.
Broader push beyond trading and asset management
According to Gate, the launch of Gate Money connects asset management, fund movement and daily payment scenarios, extending its financial services from digital asset trading and wealth management into a wider range of funding and consumer use cases.
The company said it plans to keep expanding supported asset categories, payment methods and financial service capabilities, adding more products and use cases to Gate Money over time.
