Crypto exchange Gemini donated roughly $10 million in Bitcoin to MAGA Inc., a super PAC backing U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission. The report shows Gemini co-founders Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss made the contribution on June 19 in two separate transfers, each worth more than $5 million. The donation came about three weeks after Gemini and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission jointly asked the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to vacate a $5 million settlement reached in January 2025. That settlement stemmed from prior CFTC allegations that Gemini made false or misleading statements. MAGA Inc. can use the funds to support independent political spending for Trump. Earlier, the Winklevoss brothers had each donated $1 million to Trump’s 2024 campaign and also contributed $21 million in Bitcoin to Digital Freedom Fund PAC in support of the Trump administration’s crypto policy direction. The court has not yet ruled on the motion.

Donation came weeks after motion tied to CFTC settlement
The contribution was made about three weeks after the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Gemini jointly filed a motion in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York seeking to vacate a $5 million settlement agreement reached in January 2025.
That settlement followed earlier CFTC allegations that Gemini had made false or misleading statements.

MAGA Inc. can use the money to support independent political spending for Donald Trump.
The Winklevoss brothers had previously donated $1 million each to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign. They also donated $21 million in Bitcoin to Digital Freedom Fund PAC to support the Trump administration’s crypto policy direction.
The court has not ruled on the joint motion filed by CFTC and Gemini. At the same time, CFTC Chair Michael Selig remains the agency’s only commissioner. As of June 30, MAGA Inc. had reported receiving more than $397 million in funds.
