According to an overseas media report cited by ChainCatcher, Goldman Sachs bankers made substantial commissions while handling SpaceX’s IPO-related business. The report said Goldman had helped high-net-worth clients invest in SpaceX five years earlier, when the company was valued at only tens of billions of dollars. After SpaceX later went public at a $1.77 trillion valuation, clients who sold shares booked large gains. Goldman, in turn, collected hundreds of millions of dollars in commissions from those transactions. The report focuses on the bank’s role in arranging early access for wealthy clients and then benefiting again when those holdings were monetized after the listing.
