Grokipedia, Musk's AI Encyclopedia, Hasn't Processed Edits in Over Three Months

Elon Musk's AI-generated encyclopedia Grokipedia, operated by xAI, has quietly stopped processing edit requests since April 24, according to a Lawfare report carried by PANews on Aug 7. That freeze now stretches past three months. Edits that used to move quickly now sit in "pending review" limbo, with the system neither approving nor rejecting anything. The site's automated backend halted model-generated edit submissions in phases between March and mid-April, after which every incoming edit request came from human users — and landed in a queue no one was tending. About 480 archived page snapshots show no changes to body text around April 24. Of all submissions, 97% were fact corrections. Previously, the system approved or adopted 76.5% of those. Whether xAI is preparing a major update to Grokipedia or quietly walking away from the project remains unclear.
