HashKey Cloud, the Web3 infrastructure arm of HashKey Group (HK.3887), signed a strategic cooperation agreement with digital asset infrastructure company BitGo Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BTGO) at Token2049 in Singapore on Oct. 6, 2026.
The two companies said the partnership centers on institutional digital asset services. That includes staking, trading, custody, and business tied to real-world assets, or RWA.
Four business lines included in the agreement
For staking, HashKey Cloud will act as a validator partner on the BitGo platform. The first phase covers ETH and SOL. More assets are set to follow.
For trading, the firms want to link trading and settlement channels for institutional clients. This part of the business will run through BitGo’s Singapore entity.
For custody, BitGo will supply institutional-grade digital asset custody support for HashKey-related business. And the pair said they will also look at custody cooperation connected to RWA.
What executives said
Leo Li, chief executive officer of HashKey OnChain, said: "The bottleneck for Asian institutions entering digital assets has never been willingness. It has been the lack of a complete service path that runs from trading to custody to settlement and still meets institutional compliance requirements. Working with BitGo is one step toward completing that path in Asia-Pacific — HashKey brings a local institutional client network and digital asset infrastructure services in APAC, while BitGo brings global institutional-grade custody infrastructure."
In English, his point was simple: Asian institutions are not short on interest. The real problem, he said, is the absence of a full service route covering trading, custody, and settlement that also satisfies institutional compliance standards. He said the BitGo tie-up helps complete that route in Asia-Pacific. HashKey brings a local institutional client network and digital asset infrastructure services in the region; BitGo brings global institutional-grade custody infrastructure.
Abel Seow, BitGo’s head of Asia-Pacific, said: "Institutional demand across Greater China and the broader Asia-Pacific region is rising fast, but global institutions entering this market need local licensed capabilities and network support. HashKey’s presence in Hong Kong and across APAC makes it BitGo’s ideal partner in the region. Through this cooperation, clients can get connected services across staking, trading, custody, and tokenization."
His message: institutional demand in Greater China and across Asia-Pacific is climbing quickly. But global institutions coming into the market need local licensed capabilities and network support. He said HashKey’s footprint in Hong Kong and the wider region makes it a fitting partner for BitGo there, and that the cooperation will give clients connected services spanning staking, trading, custody, and tokenization.
How the companies framed the partnership
According to the announcement, the agreement links a New York Stock Exchange-listed digital asset infrastructure company with a Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed, licensed digital asset financial services group in a multi-area institutional cooperation arrangement.
The companies said the deal connects BitGo’s global institutional client network with HashKey’s licensed operating base in Hong Kong and the wider Asia-Pacific region. For institutional clients, the announcement said staking, trading, and custody can sit inside one service framework, cutting the cost of dealing with multiple service providers.
