Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2026 is scheduled to take place from April 20 to 23 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Organizers said this year’s event will center on three main themes: the convergence of traditional finance and crypto finance, the intersection of AI and Web3, and the future of real-world assets, or RWA. A broad list of confirmed attendees from government, finance, technology, academia, and crypto has also been released.
Agenda puts payments, AI agents, and RWA compliance in focus
The first major track will examine how traditional finance and crypto are moving closer together. According to the event announcement, discussions will cover the evolution of payment infrastructure, the development of Web3-native innovation, the tension and coexistence around stablecoins, and changing models for global payments. Hong Kong’s stablecoin regulatory sandbox experience and the rollout of the first licenses are also expected to be key discussion points.
A second track will look at AI and Web3. The organizers highlighted a shift from AI as a conversational tool toward AI systems capable of carrying out economic actions on-chain. Topics named in the announcement include AI agents, the x402 micropayment protocol, and the ERC-8004 identity standard, with sessions aimed at examining how AI and blockchain infrastructure may evolve together.
The third core topic is RWA. The announcement describes RWA as a bridge between traditional finance and the digital economy, and says the event will address practical and regulatory paths ranging from domestic filing to global issuance. Cross-border compliance is expected to be part of that discussion. Confirmed participants in this area include Zhao Yao, specially appointed senior researcher at the National Institution for Finance and Development, along with representatives from CICC, Ondo, and Galaxy Digital.
Officials, financial executives, and crypto founders confirmed
The published speaker list spans public officials, financial institutions, technology firms, and crypto companies. Confirmed Hong Kong participants include Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, Securities and Futures Commission Executive Director of Intermediaries Ip Chi-hang, and Legislative Council member Duncan Chiu.
Industry speakers named so far include Wanxiang Blockchain Chairman and HashKey Group Chairman and CEO Xiao Feng, OKX Chief Commercial Officer Lennix Lai, Mysten Labs co-founder and Chief Product Officer Adeniyi Abiodun, Solana Foundation President Lily Liu, Animoca Brands co-founder and Executive Chairman Yat Siu, and BlackRock Managing Director Abdelhamid Bizid. The announcement adds that more speakers will be released later.
Event backed by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Group
The festival is jointly organized by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Group. Strategic partners listed in the release include Cyberport and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, while OKX Wallet is named as title sponsor. Supporting organizations also include Arkreen, RD Technologies, SNZ, Sui Foundation, Alchemy Pay, SlowMist, PlatON, and Cobo Global, among others.
Media organizations expected to exhibit on site include BlockTempo, Caixin Global, CoinNess, Foresight News, PANews, TechFlow, Wu Blockchain, Sina Finance, ZEX PR WIRE, and Zhihu. Based on the current schedule, the event will run for four days.
