On July 23, 2026, HOYA BIT, a Taiwan-based cryptocurrency exchange, announced it has become the first crypto trading platform worldwide to obtain BSI ISO 14068-1 carbon neutrality certification. Bryn Sutton, Vice President of BSI, and Aiman Ali, Global Head of Sustainability, traveled to Taiwan to present the certification in person, highlighting BSI’s strong recognition of HOYA BIT’s efforts.

BSI certification is regarded as the gold standard for digital governance compliance. As the world’s first national standards body, BSI’s benchmarks are used by tech giants like Microsoft and Google. ISO 14068-1 mandates that companies disclose full life-cycle carbon emissions, establish a reduction roadmap, and undergo third-party audits. Led by founder Zoe Peng, HOYA BIT adopted the SBTi methodology and Gold Standard carbon offset projects while prioritizing renewable energy initiatives that deliver measurable contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the ceremony, Bryn Sutton noted that the certification sends a clear signal to the global digital asset industry: carbon neutrality is not just an environmental issue but a core component of corporate governance and transparency. Aiman Ali added that HOYA BIT’s certification process strictly followed international standards, with its carbon footprint data verified through multiple rounds of cross-checks, ensuring high credibility.

Founder: Trust Requires Verifiable Actions, Not Feature Stacks

“The digital asset industry can respond to market expectations for governance, accountability and transparency in an internationally recognized and verifiable way,” said Zoe Peng. “The key to industry maturity is not just functional innovation — it is consistently demonstrating, through verifiable actions, that a platform can be trusted.”

HOYA BIT was also invited to participate in BSI’s 125th anniversary celebration, signaling that Taiwan’s digital asset sector has entered the global dialogue on sustainable governance. Moving forward, the exchange will continue to improve carbon disclosure and offer users various ways to participate in emission reduction efforts, turning sustainability into a shared, actionable commitment.
