Leading telecommunications manufacturer HTC and cryptocurrency innovator Bitcoin.com have announced a long-term partnership aimed at driving blockchain adoption. The first fruit of this collaboration is the HTC Exodus 1 smartphone, which now natively supports Bitcoin Cash (BCH) without users needing to download a wallet from an app store. Existing Exodus 1 owners can receive the Bitcoin.com wallet app pre-loaded via a software update.

Hardware-Level Support for Enhanced Security

Phil Chen, Decentralized Chief Officer at HTC, stated: "The EXODUS vision has always aligned itself towards public blockchains and its fundamental transformative nature of the future of money and the Internet. The Zion Vault is happy to support BCH natively in hardware for security to go hand in hand with the BCH blockchain as an alternative to dominant payment rails and platforms." The Exodus 1’s Zion Vault—a private blockchain vault—already supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, selected ERC-20 tokens, and ERC-721 collectibles; BCH now joins this list with full native integration.

Future Plans: Discounts and Broader Ecosystem

This partnership marks the first step in a long journey. Future plans include offering special discounts when paying for phones in BCH, selling Exodus phones on store.bitcoin.com, and more. Bitcoin.com CEO Stefan Rust commented: "There are so many synergies between Bitcoin.com and HTC. We are very excited to be on this incredible journey together." Executive Chairman Roger Ver added: "Bitcoin.com’s partnership with HTC will enable Bitcoin Cash to be used as peer-to-peer electronic cash for all the EXODUS users around the world."

About the Companies

Bitcoin.com boasts over 4.5 million wallet holders and its developer tools have been downloaded more than 36,000 times from over 100 countries. The company is committed to making BCH accessible to all people regardless of age, gender, nationality or financial status. HTC, with over 20 years of experience in mobile and virtual reality technology, is investing in blockchain through the EXODUS project to usher in a new era of secure data storage and transactions, taking blockchain mobile for the first time. The Zion Vault empowers users to manage their crypto assets while maintaining full ownership of their private keys.
