Hunter Biden released a fuller breakdown of the tokenomics for his LAPTOP memecoin one day before its planned launch on Base, Coinbase’s layer-2 network. The structure ties 30% of the token’s 1 billion supply to 30 public prediction events, many linked to Polymarket markets. If an event resolves yes, the related tokens will be burned; if it resolves no, the tokens will go to charity. Separately, another 50 million tokens are earmarked for charity regardless of outcomes. The allocation also gives 30% to founders, including Biden, under a six-month lock-up and a 24-month vesting schedule. Community distribution accounts for 20%, with half claimable at the token generation event and the rest left to the Phoenix Veritas Foundation’s discretion. Biden’s “Where’s Hunter?” Substack subscribers are set to receive 8%, while wallets that lost money on TRUMP are allocated 2%. Biden also said buyers “should not expect me or anyone else to make this token more valuable,” as copycat tokens have already started appearing across Base, Robinhood Chain, and Solana.

Hunter Biden shared more details Tuesday about the tokenomics behind LAPTOP, his memecoin scheduled to deploy Wednesday on Base, Coinbase’s layer-2 network.

The structure sends roughly one-third of the supply into a system tied to real-world outcomes. According to the project website, 30% of the token’s 1 billion total supply is linked to 30 public predictions, many of them tracking markets on Polymarket.

30% of supply is tied to 30 public prediction events

The list includes questions such as whether President Donald Trump will be impeached during his term and whether Democrats will win the House or Senate in 2026.

If an event resolves yes, the token slice assigned to that event will be burned. If it resolves no, those tokens will be sent to charity instead. On top of that, another 50 million tokens have been pledged to charity regardless of how those events resolve.

Founders, liquidity, and foundation allocations

The more standard pieces of the allocation table are also spelled out in the project disclosure document. Founders, including Biden, receive 30% of supply, subject to a six-month lock-up followed by a 24-month vesting period.

Another 10% is designated for liquidity, while 5% is allocated to the treasury of the Phoenix Veritas Foundation, the entity that issues and operates the token.

Community allocation includes TRUMP-loss wallets

The airdrop is framed as a direct rebuke to Trump’s token. Twenty percent of total supply is reserved for the community. Half of that, or 10%, will be claimable at the token generation event through a Phoenix Veritas portal. The remaining 10% will be distributed later at the foundation’s discretion.

Subscribers to Biden’s “Where’s Hunter?” Substack are allocated 8% of supply. Wallets that took losses on TRUMP are allocated 2%.

Biden cited Nansen data saying that about two-thirds of the 1.48 million wallets that bought TRUMP were underwater, with combined losses of $3.81 billion.

Biden disclaims responsibility for token price

In his post, Biden argued that Trump had broken trust in everything he touched. He also presented LAPTOP as an effort to reclaim his own narrative after the contents of a laptop he left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019 became a central controversy in the 2020 election and later served as evidence in the 2024 trial that ended with his conviction on federal firearm charges.

He also distanced himself from the token’s future price, writing that buyers “should not expect me or anyone else to make this token more valuable.”

Biden confirmed the launch date on Monday. Since then, dozens of copycat tokens have appeared across Base, Robinhood Chain, and Solana.
