Hyperliquid co-founder Jeff Yan said on Aug. 26 that HyperCore’s manual borrowing feature is now live on testnet. Mainnet borrowing, however, is still restricted: all borrowing functions on the live network remain available only under portfolio margin mode. Yan also said HyperEVM smart contracts can already access HyperCore’s lending and borrowing functions through CoreWriter and read-only precompiled contracts. The update points to expanded testing around HyperCore’s borrowing tools, while keeping the mainnet setup unchanged for now. The announcement also clarifies the current access path for developers working with HyperEVM smart contracts and HyperCore functionality.
