IPX has named Ja Rule president of its Celebrity Board of Advisors and a founding shareholder, the company said in an announcement released October 27, 2026. The GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum artist is also a celebrity co-founder of IPX and already holds shares in the company.
IPX said Ja Rule will advocate for artists, athletes and creators on the platform in his new role and co-write the framework for how they own and retain their intellectual property. He is also expected to help shape how projects are financed and produced, while making sure fans have a seat at the table.
Ja Rule said: "I'm a creative first, and I've seen firsthand what can happen to artists who don't own their work. When I create IP, I made sure every show is my IP, on purpose, so that content will be ours, forever. That's why IPX is a game changer for the industry, empowering celebrities, creatives and fans alike. We're rewriting the script on how celebrities own and retain their IP."
Brendan McCafferty, CEO and founder of IPX, said Ja Rule’s partnership has already had a major impact. He said Ja Rule’s creative vision is centered on ownership and extends across film, TV, live streaming, music and animation. McCafferty added that Ja Rule understands what it takes to build original IP from scratch repeatedly and that his view of artists as creators, entrepreneurs and owners aligns with what IPX is building.
