According to a CCTV-cited report carried by BlockBeats, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Rezaei said on Sept. 7 that the United States must earn Iran’s trust before talks can continue. He also rejected the U.S. claim that the Strait of Hormuz is open, calling that statement 「a pure lie」. Rezaei added that an agreement between Iran and Oman on a vessel transit chart for the Strait of Hormuz is set to be signed in the coming days. The remarks were made in the context of Iran-U.S. negotiations, with Rezaei linking any continuation of talks to Washington first rebuilding trust with Tehran.
