Iran has sent its conditions for ending the war to Washington through intermediaries and is now waiting for a response from U.S. President Donald Trump, according to Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. He said Iran is continuing mediation contacts through Qatar and Pakistan, and that Qatar has already passed along Tehran’s terms.
Rezaei said Iran’s conditions for ending the war include stopping the fighting on all fronts, releasing frozen assets, and lifting the maritime blockade. He added that accepting those terms would be in Washington’s interest and said Trump’s threats would not produce results.
On the nuclear issue, Rezaei said actions by the United States and Israel have given Iran grounds to leave the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, though he said Tehran has not made that decision and that any next step will depend on Washington’s conduct. He also said Iran still follows the late supreme leader’s nuclear ban and that its nuclear policy has not changed.
Rezaei also said Iran wants the war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi forces to end, and said Yemen’s side also wants an agreement with Saudi Arabia. He warned that if Iran is attacked, it would strike U.S. bases and interests in the Middle East.
According to BlockBeats, Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said on Sept. 20 that Iran is continuing mediation contacts through Qatar and Pakistan and has informed relevant intermediaries of its negotiating terms. He said Qatar has already conveyed Iran’s ceasefire conditions to Washington, and Tehran is now waiting for a response from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Three conditions for ending the war
Rezaei said Iran’s conditions for ending the war are a halt to fighting on all fronts, the release of frozen assets, and the lifting of the maritime blockade. He said it would be in Washington’s interest to accept those terms and added that Trump’s threats would not achieve results.
Nuclear stance and regional remarks
On the nuclear issue, Rezaei said actions by the United States and Israel have given Iran grounds to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. He said Iran has not made such a decision at this stage, and that what comes next will depend on Washington’s behavior. He also said Iran still abides by the nuclear ban put forward by the late supreme leader and that its nuclear policy has not changed.
Rezaei also said Iran wants the war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi forces to end, and said the Yemeni side also wants to reach an agreement with Saudi Arabia. He added that Iran is prepared for any escalation and warned that if it comes under attack, it would strike U.S. bases and interests in the Middle East.
