At a House hearing, Waller said inflation is a “choice,” and that the Federal Reserve remains committed to price stability with a 2% target. He said the Fed’s 2020 policy framework was a mistake and that the central bank will revisit the framework to better understand the causes of inflation and how to respond.

MSX.COM data showed IBM shares falling 25% after the company released preliminary second-quarter sales that came in below expectations. The move marked IBM’s largest single-day drop since 1987. The company attributed the miss to customer spending shifting toward chips and servers.

According to CCTV International News, Rezaei, a military adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said there is no longer a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States and that the enemy has formally entered a state of war.

Onchain Lens said Noxa Fi’s official X account may have been hacked. Some users who interacted with related content reportedly had assets stolen from their wallets. The project said it is investigating the matter and will provide further updates, while warning users not to connect wallets or sign transactions for now.

Brinc raises $125 million
Bloomberg reported that AI drone company Brinc, backed by OpenAI founder Sam Altman, raised $125 million. Motorola Solutions led the round, with participation from Index Ventures and Dylan Field. The company focuses on applying AI drone technology to public safety, including replacing some high-risk human response tasks.
Flex raises $70 million in a B1 round
Forbes reported that Flex, a cross-border commercial banking platform built around stablecoins, completed a $70 million B1 round led by Halo Fund. The money will be used to expand Flex Global, the company’s cross-border commercial banking platform designed to help mid-sized businesses manage global payments and treasury through stablecoin infrastructure.
The report also said annual stablecoin payment volume has reached about $390 billion, while business-to-business transactions have increased about 733% year over year.
Velocity raises $38 million in Series A
Fortune reported that stablecoin payments infrastructure company Velocity raised $38 million in a Series A round led by Dragonfly, with Coinbase, Capital One Ventures and Wintermute also participating.
Founded in 2025, the company provides stablecoin payment services for businesses and financial institutions. It currently operates in the United States, parts of Europe and Australia, and plans to expand into Africa and Latin America.
Nous Research raises at least $75 million
Techcrunch reported that Nous Research, the company behind the open-source AI agent Hermes, completed a new financing round of at least $75 million at a post-money valuation of $1.5 billion. Robot Ventures led the round, with Union Square Ventures and others joining.
Hermes has accumulated 214,000 stars on GitHub and nearly 40,000 forks. It supports local deployment and can autonomously perform tasks such as web search and code generation.

Trump comments on Strait of Hormuz transit fees
Jin10 reported that Donald Trump said he does not like the idea of charging for use of the Strait of Hormuz and does not think ships should be charged for passage there. He said Gulf countries had called to say they would prefer to invest in the United States rather than pay transit fees, and he said that approach was better.
