Jupiter has launched Jupiter Card, an on-chain card service built into the Jupiter Mobile app that allows users to make purchases directly from their wallet balance. According to the announcement, the card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted, extending crypto-linked payments into a much broader set of everyday retail scenarios.
Bringing wallet balances into daily payments
The main feature of Jupiter Card is its direct connection to a user’s wallet. Instead of requiring users to off-ramp funds first and move them into a bank account or separate payment platform, Jupiter is positioning the product as a more seamless bridge between on-chain assets and real-world spending. The company said the card is designed to meet everyday financial needs, making payment functionality a more practical part of its mobile platform.
Visa acceptance and virtual card tiers
Jupiter said the service includes virtual card options and offers Visa Infinite and Visa Platinum tiers. By operating through Visa’s merchant network, the product aims to offer usability closer to conventional payment cards, giving users a familiar way to spend blockchain-based balances in standard commerce environments.
Fees and settlement structure
On pricing, Jupiter disclosed transaction fees ranging from 1% to 1.8%. The service is backed by USDC for settlement, which helps streamline the payment process. In this setup, the stablecoin acts as the settlement layer connecting crypto wallet balances with traditional card infrastructure, reducing friction in execution.
More broadly, the launch highlights a continuing trend in crypto: turning wallets into usable spending accounts rather than storage tools alone. For users, the significance of Jupiter Card lies in its attempt to make on-chain balances more immediately spendable in the real economy. At the same time, details such as regional availability, total cost, and user experience will likely remain key points of market attention.
