Kyrgyzstan’s central bank signs strategic cooperation deal with CertiK on digital som security

The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, or NBKR, has signed a memorandum of understanding with blockchain security firm CertiK to form a long-term strategic partnership focused on the security of the digital som, digital asset regulation, and cybersecurity. Under the agreement, the two sides will exchange technology and expertise in blockchain and digital asset security, security assessment, formal verification, cybersecurity, and operational resilience. CertiK said it will provide technical and strategic support to the central bank through its digital asset security and risk management capabilities, while also exploring the deployment of its CertiK Supervision and CertiK Compliance products to strengthen ongoing risk monitoring and regulatory oversight. The cooperation also extends to regulatory consulting and professional training in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, digital asset custody, security standards, and licensing requirements. CertiK said the partnership places its security technology within central bank and tightly regulated settings and could serve as a reference point for future work with other central banks and regulators.

According to BlockBeats, on Sept. 14 the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (NBKR) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with blockchain security company CertiK, formally establishing a long-term strategic partnership. Partnership spans security, assessment, and resilience

Under the memorandum, the two sides will explore technical and experience-sharing efforts in blockchain and digital asset security, security assessment, formal verification, cybersecurity, and operational resilience.

CertiK said it will use its capabilities in digital asset security and risk management to provide technical and strategic support to NBKR. The parties will also explore deploying CertiK Supervision and CertiK Compliance to strengthen continuous risk monitoring and regulatory oversight.

Regulatory consulting and training are also included

The cooperation also covers regulatory consulting and professional training related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT), digital asset custody, security standards, and licensing requirements.

CertiK said the partnership brings its security technology into use cases involving central banks and tightly regulated institutions, and may serve as a reference for future cooperation with other central banks and regulators.
