Ledger has introduced a self-custodial lending feature called Crypto Loan inside its wallet app, the company said at TOKEN2049 in Singapore. Eligible users can pledge cbBTC or WBTC as collateral and borrow USDC or USDT without leaving Ledger Wallet. The product lets users open and manage loans in the app, monitor loan-to-value ratios, add collateral, repay debt, or increase borrowing. Ledger said sensitive actions must be confirmed on its signing device through hardware verification before execution. The lending feature is powered by decentralized credit network Morpho, while Yield.xyz serves as the technology provider. Ledger also said its signing device can connect directly to Morpho, removing the need to use a browser extension or a software wallet to access the protocol. Crypto Loan has already started rolling out to eligible users and will be expanded to a broader group over time. Ledger added that collateral may face forced liquidation if the value of pledged assets drops sharply.

Hardware wallet maker Ledger has launched an in-app self-custodial lending feature called Crypto Loan, the company announced at TOKEN2049 in Singapore. Eligible users can post cbBTC or WBTC as collateral and borrow USDC or USDT.

Loan management stays inside Ledger Wallet

Users can open and manage loans directly in Ledger Wallet, track loan-to-value ratios, add collateral, repay outstanding balances, or increase the amount borrowed. Ledger said key actions must be confirmed on its signing device through hardware verification before they are executed.

Morpho powers the product, Yield.xyz provides the tech

According to the announcement, the feature is powered by decentralized credit network Morpho, with Yield.xyz acting as the technology provider. Ledger also said its signing device can connect directly to Morpho, so users do not need a browser extension or a software wallet to access the protocol.

Rollout has started for eligible users

Crypto Loan has begun rolling out to eligible users, with broader availability planned later. Ledger also warned that collateral may be forcibly liquidated if the price of pledged assets falls sharply.
