Hardware wallet maker Ledger has introduced a new Crypto Loan feature that lets eligible users borrow stablecoins directly from within their wallets. Under the rollout, users can post wrapped Bitcoin assets, including Coinbase Wrapped BTC (cbBTC) and Wrapped BTC (wBTC), as collateral and borrow either USDC or USDT. The lending function is supported by DeFi protocol Morpho through technology service provider Yield xyz. Ledger also added direct device connectivity to Morpho, removing the need for a browser extension or a separate software wallet when accessing the service. The update expands borrowing options inside the Ledger wallet environment while keeping the process tied to supported wrapped Bitcoin collateral and stablecoin pairs named by the company.
