Lido has announced it will cease official support for cross-chain wstETH on nine blockchains including ZKsync Era and Mode, discontinuing monitoring, security, incident response, and integration services. However, wstETH on those chains remains usable and freely transferable, unaffected by the change.

Liquid staking protocol Lido has released a multichain update announcing the end of official support for cross-chain versions of wstETH on nine blockchain networks: ZKsync Era, Mode, Scroll, Mantle, Swell, Zircuit, Soneium, Polygon PoS, and Lisk. The wstETH tokens already circulating on these chains will continue to function and be freely traded, with no impact on user balances or transfers.

According to the announcement, Lido will no longer provide active monitoring, security oversight, incident response, or integration support for wstETH on these specific networks. This means Lido's official team is stepping back from the operational and security maintenance of these cross-chain deployments, though the underlying assets remain fully operational.

The change affects a diverse set of nine networks, including Layer 2 scaling solutions (ZKsync Era, Scroll, Mode, Mantle), sidechains (Polygon PoS), and other emerging infrastructure. Lido emphasized that the discontinuation of official support does not invalidate the assets, and no urgent action is required from holders. Users are advised to monitor official channels of each chain for any future developments.
