Manus announced on Aug. 11 that it is preparing to resume independent operations. As part of the transition and to meet regulatory requirements in certain jurisdictions, affected users are instructed to back up their data before 7:59 a.m. Singapore time on Aug. 23, and restore it starting from 8:00 a.m. on Aug. 25, ensuring continued access after the switch.
Notifications will be delivered via email and in-app messages. Users who registered through Apple ID or Facebook should pay extra attention to in-app alerts, the company noted. Affected users may perform multiple backups prior to the deadline, and can continue creating data after an initial backup before running another one. The restoration portal opens at 8:00 a.m. on Aug. 25, after which users recover their data and resume normal use. During the transition, no fees will be charged to affected users, and Manus will provide rewards.
For users not affected by the adjustment, no action is required; they can keep using Manus as usual, and the system will confirm their account status via in-app notification. Manus acknowledged that the change may cause inconvenience, and said a detailed step-by-step guide has been published in its help center, with customer support available 24/7.
The firm also said it is preparing a series of new features aimed at pushing the capabilities of general-purpose AI agents further, and expressed optimism about its outlook once independent operations resume.
