MegaETH has launched its native token MEGA after completing a seven-day countdown, with trading going live across major exchanges shortly after the token generation event. The Ethereum scaling project said the launch was triggered only after 10 ecosystem apps met its first KPI target. In a post on X, MegaETH announced, “MEGA — Now Trading,” and said all tokens would be distributed to users by 7 a.m. ET.

First KPI target unlocked the token launch

The project had stated in advance that MEGA would not launch until it could show enough real onchain activity. According to MegaETH, 10 “Mega Mafia” apps were live before the launch and cleared the first KPI threshold needed to start the final countdown. That milestone centered on real user activity connected to USDM, the protocol’s native stablecoin, which was co-developed with Ethena.

MEGA has a fixed total supply of 10 billion tokens. Of that amount, 53.3% is tied to performance-based staking rewards. The structure departs from a standard time-based vesting schedule. Instead, MegaETH uses KPI-linked targets to determine the release of a large portion of future supply.

Binance, KuCoin, and Bitget opened spot markets

Exchange listings followed quickly after the token generation event. Binance said it would list MEGA for spot trading at 11:00 UTC with a seed tag. KuCoin and Bitget also announced MEGA spot trading from the same start time, while other platforms shared their own listing plans.

MegaETH describes itself as a high-performance Ethereum scaling network built for real-time onchain applications. Last week, the supply of USDM stood at about $62.9 million. During the MEGA launch period, that figure climbed to more than $300 million. MegaETH co-founder Namik Muduroglu called the launch window “very intense.”

USDM revenue is set to feed back into MEGA demand

The MegaETH Foundation has said it plans to use revenue generated by USDM to accumulate MEGA tokens. That setup links network usage, stablecoin activity, and token demand within the project’s design. Based on the structure already outlined, future token release will continue to depend on measurable ecosystem performance rather than a simple calendar-based unlock schedule.
