This week saw Bitcoin and Ethereum rise modestly by 3-4%, but meme tokens stole the show. SPX soared 107.2%, GOAT gained 70.2%, and REEF rose 50%. The total crypto market cap reached $2.25 trillion. Scroll plunged over 50% as the biggest loser.

The crypto market experienced a notable recovery this week, with total global market capitalization climbing to $2.25 trillion, a 3.01% increase in the past 24 hours. While Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) both posted steady gains of 3.13% and 3.61% respectively, the spotlight was firmly on meme tokens and altcoins that delivered triple-digit and double-digit returns.

Meme Tokens Dominate the Leaderboard

The standout performer of the week was spx6900 (SPX), which skyrocketed an astonishing 107.2%, making it the top gainer among all crypto assets. Close behind was the AI-themed meme token goatseus maximus (GOAT), which jumped 70.2%. Other notable winners include reef (REEF) with a 50% gain, baby doge coin (BABYDOGE) up 45.31%, book of meme (BOME) rising 39.71%, and dog go to the moon (DOG) adding 38.86%. Solana (SOL), BNB, SUI, PEPE, XRP, DOGE, WIF, NEIRO, and APT were among the highest-traded assets by volume, excluding stablecoins.

Losers: Scroll and FTT Lead the Decline

On the losing side, only a handful of tokens recorded double-digit losses. The newly launched scroll (SCR) suffered the steepest decline, plummeting over 50%. FTX token (FTT) dropped 23.37%, reflecting continued fallout from the exchange’s collapse. Hamster kombat (HMSTR) fell 13.33%, while RLB and HNT declined 11.44% and 11.11% respectively. The overall breadth of the market was positive, with far more gainers than losers.

Market Outlook: Renewed Optimism

The recent performance underscores a resurgence of confidence among crypto investors. With Bitcoin and Ethereum consolidating, and meme tokens driving speculative momentum, the market appears poised for further growth. However, volatility remains a key risk, especially for newly launched tokens and projects with uncertain fundamentals. As the market evolves, attention will likely turn to how these gains translate into sustainable trends.
