MetaMask has rolled out new anti-scam protections designed to flag several common crypto fraud risks across its mobile app and browser extension. The wallet will now warn users about impersonation addresses, investment scams, romance scams, and transfers sent to a first-time recipient address. MetaMask also introduced a new feature called Added Protection, which can automatically revoke transactions if what executes does not match the transaction preview shown to the user. That feature has launched first on the browser extension, with mobile support planned later. In addition, MetaMask said it is using AI to detect phishing attempts, scams, and malicious transaction behavior. The update was reported by Decrypt and carried by Odaily.
