MEXC said its gold futures business expanded sharply over the past two months, with market share reaching 47% on January 25, 2026 and single-day trading volume climbing to $555 million. Based on figures released by the exchange, that share was up from 2.4% in early December 2025, marking roughly 20x growth over the period.
Gold futures share accelerated in late January
According to the announcement, MEXC moved ahead of rival venues on January 23, 2026 to take the largest share of the gold futures market and kept that position through the end of the month. The exchange said growth picked up after January 15, the same period in which gold prices reached fresh highs. That timing, in MEXC’s account, coincided with a clear rise in trading activity tied to precious metals contracts.
Zero-fee campaign covered XAUT and PAXG contracts
MEXC said it introduced a limited-time zero-fee program in mid-January for GOLD Futures tied to XAUT and PAXG. The company linked that move to a 635% month-over-month increase in average daily trading volume from December 2025 to January 2026. Peak turnover was recorded on January 25 at $555 million. MEXC also said the campaign worked alongside its broader derivatives setup, including up to 100x leverage on gold futures and deeper order book liquidity.
Silver futures followed a similar pattern
The exchange added that its silver futures product, SILVER(XAG)USDT, posted a comparable rise. Trading volume increased by nearly 20x between January 18 and January 24, reaching a peak of $147.8 million. MEXC said that move tracked a silver price rally that began on January 16.
Company profile and note attached to the release
MEXC said it was founded in 2018 and now serves more than 40 million users across 170+ countries and regions. The exchange said it plans to keep competitive fee structures in place while expanding its derivatives lineup across more asset classes.
