Investor Michael Burry said Hong Kong equities deserve close attention as he sees value in low-priced names that could perform well after enthusiasm around South Korea, Japan, and the iShares Semiconductor ETF fades. In a social media post on Friday, Burry pointed investors toward the Hong Kong market for bargain hunting. Earlier this month, he also said he had increased his position in JD.com. Separately, Morgan Stanley had previously advised investors to add exposure to Hong Kong stocks, citing in part its positive view on corporate earnings prospects.

Michael Burry said investors should look to Hong Kong equities for bargain opportunities.

In a social media post on Friday, Burry wrote: “Now is an especially good time to watch the Hong Kong market and look for low-priced stocks that could perform well after the halo around South Korea, Japan, and the iShares Semiconductor ETF fades.”

Earlier this month, he said he had increased his holdings in JD.com.

Morgan Stanley had also previously recommended that investors add to Hong Kong stocks, partly because of its view on corporate earnings prospects.
