On Aug. 4, Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, said that within the current Bitcoin difficulty adjustment cycle, only 38 blocks had set the BIP-110 signaling flag in the block header's version field by block 961,022, a rate of 2.70%. He called BIP-110's 55% voluntary signaling threshold impossible to reach. At block 961,632, BIP-110 nodes will reject blocks that have not signaled. Saylor said that unless major miners reverse course, Bitcoin will operate normally while BIP-110 stalls or forks and becomes irrelevant. He urged supporters of the proposal to stop pushing it.
