Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor said in a Fortune interview that AI is reshaping wealth creation, and people should use AI to amplify their capabilities rather than compete with machines. He credited ChatGPT with helping design a bitcoin-based preferred stock financing plan that ultimately helped the company raise about $15 billion through an IPO and related funding. Saylor argued the edge in the AI era comes from asking better questions, not matching machines at repetitive work.

PANews, August 6 - Bitcoin treasury company Strategy's executive chairman Michael Saylor told Fortune that artificial intelligence is changing how wealth is created, and both companies and individuals should use AI to amplify their own abilities instead of trying to compete with machines.

In the interview, Saylor said he used ChatGPT to help design Strategy's bitcoin-based preferred stock financing plan, which ultimately helped the company raise roughly $15 billion through an IPO and related funding rounds. "AI helped me create $15 billion," he said.

Saylor argued that the real edge in the AI era is not doing repetitive tasks machines can handle, but asking better questions and using AI to explore opportunities that were previously out of reach. "Don't try to work harder than the robots," he said.

Saylor has spent recent years pushing Strategy to accumulate bitcoin at scale, converting the company from a traditional software business into a publicly traded firm built around bitcoin as its core asset. He acknowledged the strategy carries significant risk, but said major innovation often requires enduring volatility and constantly adjusting course.

Going forward, he said, successful founders will be those who combine AI with human creativity, not individuals trying to do the work AI was meant to replace.
