Amid rising demand for secure and scalable enterprise-grade AI agents in the cryptocurrency sector, Microsoft Foundry has launched the Managed Agents service in public preview. The service provides each agent session with an isolated, enterprise-grade sandbox environment, including a persistent file system, identity and governance tools, and support for multiple orchestration frameworks.
Key Features: Isolated Sandboxes and Zero-Cost Scaling
The service implements VM-level isolation for automatic session isolation, ensuring each agent runs in a separate environment to prevent data breaches. It also offers predictable cold start times and zero-cost scaling during idle periods, significantly reducing operational overhead. Developers can configure environments via Dockerfile and deploy with a single click onto Microsoft's cloud infrastructure.
Rich Development Framework Support
Managed Agents supports LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, and other major SDKs. Additionally, Microsoft introduced preview features: Toolbox for tool management and Memory for long-term agent memory, providing underlying support for complex on-chain interactions and automated trading strategy execution in the crypto space.
For crypto enterprises, the service can be directly used to deploy DeFi protocol monitoring agents, NFT market analysis bots, cross-chain bridge security detection agents, and more. By leveraging the managed sandbox, projects avoid building their own infrastructure while enjoying enterprise-grade security and cloud-based elastic scaling.
The service is currently in public preview. Developers can apply for trial access in the Azure portal. Microsoft said the formal version will further enhance governance and compliance features to meet global crypto regulatory requirements.
