Morgan Stanley replaced Goldman Sachs last month to rank among the top three equity issuance underwriters in Asia excluding Japan, according to the data cited by BlockBeats. Compiled data showed that total issuance in the market has risen 55% year to date from the same period a year earlier. In July alone, companies raised $162 billion through stock offerings, compared with $104.8 billion in the same month last year. Morgan Stanley’s market share climbed to 6.07%, edging past Goldman Sachs at 5.62%. China International Capital Corporation held onto the top position in the underwriting league table with a 13.1% share. The largest equity deal completed in July was ChangXin Memory Technologies’ $9.84 billion fundraising.
