NEAR co-founder Illia Polosukhin said developer activity in the ecosystem has increased recently while barriers to building have continued to fall. In his view, the main question is no longer whether people can build, but what kinds of applications they should build and how those products can reach users. He shared a broad list of possible directions. The ideas include AI virtual pets that combine NEAR AI’s onchain verifiable inference with NFTs, a universal checkout component for intent-based payments across chains, a decentralized encyclopedia built with prediction markets and AI-generated content, and privacy-focused OTC markets based on NEAR Intents. He also mentioned tools for anti-liquidation lending and perpetual management, cross-chain event registration escrow backed by staking deposits, privacy code-review agents, cap table management for enterprises, delta-neutral strategy management, privacy copy trading based on view keys, end-to-end encrypted medical diagnosis support, private voice transcription desktop apps, and AI benchmarking using private test sets. On distribution, Polosukhin pointed to community channels such as NEARLegion and X, and said Aurora Intent Connect could help support multi-chain wallet compatibility and reduce cross-chain friction. He also encouraged outreach across communities and on platforms such as Product Hunt.

NEAR co-founder Illia Polosukhin said in a post that developer activity in the NEAR ecosystem has risen recently and that the barrier to building has continued to drop. He said the central issue now is what kinds of applications should be built and how teams should establish distribution channels.

Polosukhin then listed a range of possible product directions. They include AI virtual pets that combine NEAR AI’s onchain verifiable inference with non-fungible tokens, a universal checkout component that supports intent-based payments across chains, a decentralized encyclopedia that mixes prediction markets with AI-generated content, and a privacy OTC market built on NEAR Intents, along with anti-liquidation lending and perpetual contract management.

Other ideas he mentioned include a cross-chain event registration escrow tool using staking deposits, a privacy-focused code review agent, a cap table management tool for enterprises, delta-neutral strategy management, privacy copy trading based on view keys, an end-to-end encrypted medical diagnosis support system, a private voice transcription desktop app, and AI benchmarking based on private test sets.

On product distribution, he suggested using community channels including NEARLegion and X. He also said Aurora Intent Connect can be used to support multi-chain wallet compatibility and lower the barrier to cross-chain use, while teams should also expand outreach across communities and on platforms such as Product Hunt.
