New Huo Group Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Livio Weng said at WIKIEXPO that the company is accelerating its buildout of AI strategic investment services and will provide access for crypto capital to enter primary and secondary AI markets through compliant channels.
Speaking in a keynote titled "Bridging the Last Mile for Institutions Moving Into Web3 and AI," Weng said the crypto market has seen a significant adjustment over the past six months, with both changes in the macro environment and structural factors in capital markets behind the move. He said the correction does not mean the industry’s long-term value has changed. In his view, phased profit-taking by experienced investors after a sharp run-up is a normal part of how markets function.
Institutional capital remains a central theme
Weng said that as the AI trade moves into a phase of correction, the risk-reward profile of crypto assets is improving again. He also said fresh rounds of profit-taking by market capital are appearing, which he described as a normal development.
One of the clearest changes in the crypto market over the past few years, according to Weng, is the gradual exit of retail investors and the continued entry of institutional money. He said global asset management firms, investment banks, insurance institutions, family offices, and large enterprises are now becoming important market participants.
Weng added that over the next two years, high-net-worth individuals worldwide may enter the crypto market through different channels, potentially bringing in new capital on a trillion-dollar scale.
Private banking for digital assets and an AI investment push
Against that backdrop, New Huo Bitfire is continuing to build out its private banking service system for digital assets. Weng said that as one of the earlier Hong Kong-listed companies to position itself in Web3, a New Huo subsidiary launched Hong Kong’s first compliant BTC-denominated asset management service this year.
He said the company is now concentrating resources on expanding its AI strategic investment business to serve compliant crypto capital seeking entry into both primary and secondary AI markets.
