Nillion said it has started Dusk, the first stage in its seven-phase Encrypted Markets roadmap, and has already rolled it out on the Sepolia testnet. The decentralized privacy computing network said Dusk is designed to bring conditional trading instructions on-chain in encrypted form through a Covenants mechanism, with deployment to Ethereum mainnet planned later. Under the design, traders can pre-set orders based on price thresholds or time windows, while the instructions remain sealed and unreadable to outside parties until the trigger conditions are met. Once triggered, Nillion nodes help unlock the instructions on-chain and move them into settlement. The network said the system runs in a decentralized way, without relying on a single operator to decide when an order should be opened. Orders cannot be revoked after publication, and if conditions are never met, they expire automatically without being disclosed. Nillion added that the first version of Dusk supports price-trigger and time-window conditions for a small number of crypto assets, with time windows of up to 30 days. It also said sealed stop-loss orders and sealed auction functions have completed end-to-end testing, while the roadmap points to the first Dusk-based apps hitting testnet in mid-September and an Ethereum mainnet deployment with node network launch in late September.

Dusk goes live on Sepolia

According to Nillion, Dusk is set to be deployed on Ethereum mainnet and will introduce a Covenants mechanism. The setup allows traders to define conditional trading instructions in advance based on price thresholds or time windows, then post those instructions on-chain in encrypted form.

Until the specified conditions are met, the instructions remain sealed and cannot be read by outside parties. Once the conditions are satisfied, Nillion nodes help unlock the instructions on-chain and move them into the settlement process.

Orders cannot be revoked after publication

Nillion said the mechanism operates in a decentralized manner and does not depend on a single operator to decide when an instruction should be opened. Once published, an instruction cannot be revoked. If the trigger conditions are never met, the instruction expires automatically and is not made public.

First version supports price and time-based triggers

The company said the first version of Dusk supports price-threshold conditions and time-window triggers of up to 30 days for a small number of crypto assets. It added that sealed stop-loss orders and sealed auction functions have already completed end-to-end testing.

Testnet apps and mainnet rollout scheduled for September

The roadmap shows that the first applications built on Dusk are expected to go live on testnet in mid-September. In late September, Dusk is scheduled to be deployed to Ethereum mainnet, with the node network set to launch at the same time.
