According to Notion's official status page on X, starting early Sunday, “Anthropic's Opus 4.7 and 4.8 models showed performance degradation, causing a higher failure rate for users who selected these models in Notion AI.” To protect user experience, Notion immediately disabled all Anthropic models across its automated productivity tools. Product Lead Clarifies: Don't Confuse Infrastructure With Model Quality
Roughly 12 hours later, Notion product lead Max Schoening posted on X, saying he was “surprised” that “so many people shared the notice just because they wanted the story to be about model quality.” Schoening stressed: “The performance degradation was a temporary service outage. This stuff happens. It happens to Notion, GitHub, AWS, your OpenClaw, and everything in between.” He confirmed that Notion has restored access to Anthropic models.
