PeckShield, citing monitoring from Specter, said roughly $1.7 million in DAI and USDC had been taken. The attacker converted the funds into about 689.2 ETH and moved the ether into Tornado Cash. The escrow contract behind fixed-rate lending protocol Notional Finance appears to have been hit by a suspected attack. Around $1.7 million in DAI and USDC was drained, according to BlockBeats on Sept. 4.

PeckShield, citing monitoring done by Specter, reported the suspected exploit. The attacker converted the stolen stablecoins into about 689.2 ETH. Those funds were then deposited into Tornado Cash.

What caused the attack is still unknown. The project team has yet to confirm the final loss size, and the matter remains under further review.
