Nvidia said it is expanding its robot-development cooperation with a group of Japanese industrial companies, adding several major manufacturers and automation firms to its Cosmos alliance as it pushes deeper into hardware for what the industry calls physical AI. Fujitsu, Fanuc, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Yaskawa Electric are among the companies joining the Nvidia-led group, with Hitachi, NEC, Komatsu and Kubota also set to participate. The alliance is aimed at accelerating adoption of Nvidia’s platform across hardware-based AI applications, a category that spans humanoid robots, factory automation, autonomous vehicles, smart buildings and rail systems. The announcement came after Nvidia rolled out a batch of new technologies this week designed to speed robot development. Those releases included Cosmos 3-H, a lightweight version of its world foundation model for physical AI that can run on edge-computing devices, as well as the Jetson T3000 and Jetson T2000 robot computers. Nvidia said the two systems sit between the flagship T4000 lineup and the AGX Orin platform in its product stack.
