Nvidia and Microsoft said at an event in San Francisco that they are jointly building hardware and software for Windows PCs to support AI agents running locally. Microsoft also launched Microsoft Execution Containers, or MXC, an operating system-level infrastructure designed to give AI agents a secure and persistent background runtime. Nvidia, for its part, introduced RTX Spark, a platform that brings the company’s full AI stack to Windows laptops and compact desktops. The system combines a Blackwell RTX GPU with a Grace CPU and offers up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance and as much as 128GB of unified memory. Nvidia said the platform can run large models locally, including Qwen 3.8 Flash Next. Laptops equipped with RTX Spark are available for pre-order starting today and will go on sale on Oct. 16, while compact desktop systems are scheduled to arrive in November.
