Odaily’s evening brief collected a series of updates across crypto markets, macro data, regulation and capital markets. SK Hynix is reportedly set to list in the United States as early as August, while investment demand for SpaceX’s IPO has exceeded $250 billion. Space-themed ETFs have also attracted $8 billion in inflows over the past six months.
In crypto markets, BIT said Bitcoin is facing three layers of risk-off pressure, with today’s CPI data serving as the first key test. On-chain activity also featured prominently: one whale and two other addresses withdrew $122 million worth of ETH from FalconX and Kraken. Another item said Bitcoin whales dominated dip-buying near the $60,000 level, accounting for 61.6% of buying activity. US stock trader CBB has also restarted a sub-address and opened an $18 million position.
Macro and regulatory developments were also included in the brief. A US CPI preview said the roots of inflation extend far beyond oil, and that sticky inflation may be difficult to fade quickly. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission said licensed companies in Hong Kong may continue serving existing mainland clients, but cannot provide such services within mainland China. Separately, a whale has begun closing a short position on the S&P 500, with current profit at $1.44 million.
