Odaily released its midday brief with eight updates spanning international affairs, macro markets, artificial intelligence and crypto trading products. According to the brief, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said the Iran-U.S. talks originally scheduled for Friday will not take place as planned. In the same update set, the U.S. Dollar Index rose above 101, reaching its highest level since May 2025.
Geopolitical and Macro Updates
The brief also cited the Israeli military as saying it is continuing to launch “attacks” on Lebanon. The movement in the U.S. Dollar Index was listed alongside these geopolitical developments, with Odaily noting that the index broke through 101 and set a new high for the period since May 2025.
AI and Crypto Trading Products in Focus
On artificial intelligence, Zhipu founder Tang Jie said that after the open-source release of GLM-5.2, the model will gradually narrow the performance gap with OpenAI and Anthropic. A separate Zhipu-related trading item was also included: trade.xyz purchased the ZHIPU code, and Odaily’s original wording said it may list Zhipu perpetual contract trading.
In crypto market structure, the brief stated that STRC’s depeg can be viewed as an extreme market stress test, while the time required for a return to peg is connected with market concerns over Strategy selling coins. On-chain activity was also mentioned, with one whale spending $29.76 million over 10 days to buy 17,800 ETH.
For exchange product development, Coinbase CEO said Coinbase will support pre-IPO perpetual contracts, stock options and tokenized stocks. This placed private-company-related perpetuals, traditional equity options and tokenized stock products in the same product expansion update within Odaily’s midday news roundup.
