OKX said it has filed a notice with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission together with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) for a tokenized securities trading venue, according to on-site reporting by ChainCatcher from the OKX NOW Global Product and Ecosystem Conference in Singapore. Speaking during a panel, OKX Vice President of Strategic Markets Louis Tam also said eligible OKX clients can already trade crude oil perpetuals that reference ICE Brent and WTI benchmarks. At the same event, former New York Governor and OKX board director Andrew Cuomo said the venue is expected to operate under the SEC’s "innovation exemption" framework and could go live in about 30 days. He added that the SEC has set limits on the number of stocks that can be traded and on trading volume. Cuomo said the move shows traditional finance and crypto fintech are shifting from competition toward cooperation and integration.
