OpenRouter has built an AI agent called Rasp for its five-person sales team, using it to handle routine work across the sales cycle. According to BlockBeats, the system checks customer background information, qualifies leads, replies to emails, prepares materials before meetings, summarizes notes afterward, and updates customer records.
The company said 93% of first-contact emails are now sent automatically by AI, with many customers receiving a reply in under a minute. It also said the work surrounding each product demo, before and after the meeting, has been reduced from 103 minutes to 44 minutes.
OpenRouter said the setup saves about 600 hours per month while costing $30 per day, including engineering labor and model expenses. Sales staff still handle meetings, negotiations, and final decisions. The company’s view is that assigning AI to research, note-taking, and form-filling is proving easier to implement than asking AI to replace salespeople outright.
