Techub News, citing CryptoBriefing, reported that ORE, a mining protocol in the Solana ecosystem, suffered a smart contract vulnerability in its staking program. An attacker used the flaw to take 25.5 SOL from the staking program, with the amount valued in the report at about $2,125.

Staking Program Frozen for Security Upgrade

ORE confirmed that user deposits remain safe. However, stakers are required to migrate to a new contract before they can resume earning staking rewards. According to the report, the vulnerability was located in the smart contract used by the staking program, and the attacker exploited it to obtain rewards unlawfully rather than directly taking user deposits.

ORE froze the staking program on May 29 and began a security upgrade to address the contract issue. As of the Techub News update, the protocol had not announced when the migration window will close, and it had not released a full incident analysis report. Stakers therefore need to follow the contract migration process disclosed by the protocol in order to restore rewards.
