Origins Network has raised $8 million in strategic funding as it builds a blockchain focused on verifiable computation for AI agents. Backers in the round include Animoca Brands, TBV, Candaq FinTech Group, Castrum Capital, and Coinvestor Ventures, along with several family offices and angel investors.
The startup describes itself as computation infrastructure for AI agents. Its stated goal is to address a set of basic trust questions: what an AI system actually ran off-chain, how that process unfolded, and who can attest that the output followed the intended rules. Origins Network is targeting that verification layer rather than treating AI execution as a black box.
Proof of Computation records each step for verification
At the center of the network is its in-house PoC, or Proof of Computation, mechanism. The project says that when an AI system performs inference or executes tasks, each step can leave a verifiable on-chain record, allowing others to check whether the model operated according to the defined rules.
The system uses a hybrid design. Computation happens off-chain to preserve performance, while verification results are anchored on-chain to support trust. The approach keeps heavy workloads outside the blockchain while making the process auditable.
Funding will go to nodes, developer tooling, and global expansion
Origins Network said it has already established partnerships with AWS, Tencent Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, and Origins Cloud to support underlying compute resources. The new capital will be used in three main areas: expanding a global decentralized compute node network, growing the developer ecosystem and improving tooling, and supporting global operations, market expansion, and business partnerships.
Funding activity around AI agent infrastructure has remained active. This round points to continued institutional interest in verifiable AI computation as a distinct segment within the broader AI and crypto market.
