Peach Bitcoin said Swiss regulators are seeking a fresh review of the compliance framework under which its no-KYC peer-to-peer Bitcoin platform has been allowed to operate since 2022. In response, the company said it will temporarily step out of the escrow process starting Sept. 1, 2026, and move to a non-custodial model while it pursues an appeal. Under the temporary setup, only users who have completed KYC, received manual whitelist approval, or meet transaction history requirements will be able to create sell offers. Sellers who have not completed KYC will be limited to one active trade at a time. Buying will remain open to all users, with a cap of 500 Swiss francs per transaction and a maximum premium of 6%. Peach Bitcoin added that its in-app dispute resolution system will remain available, though the company will no longer sign in escrow. It said it will continue charging a 2% fee on released trades. Founder @proofofsteph said the company will not immediately abandon its no-KYC model, will communicate its position to regulators, and will comply if the appeal ultimately fails.

Peach Bitcoin said Swiss regulators are seeking to re-examine the compliance framework that has allowed its no-KYC peer-to-peer Bitcoin platform to operate since 2022.

The company said it will temporarily withdraw from the escrow process starting Sept. 1, 2026, and adopt a non-custodial model while an appeal is underway.

Under the temporary arrangement, only users who have completed KYC, obtained manual whitelist approval, or satisfy transaction history requirements will be allowed to create sell offers. Sellers who have not completed KYC will be limited to one ongoing trade at a time.

Buying will remain available to all users. The limit for each transaction will stay at 500 Swiss francs, with premiums capped at 6%.

Peach Bitcoin also said its in-app dispute resolution system will remain in place, but the company will no longer sign in escrow and will continue to collect a 2% fee from released trades.

Peach Bitcoin founder @proofofsteph said the company will not immediately give up the no-KYC model and will communicate with regulators on its position. If the appeal ultimately fails, the company will comply with the regulatory decision.
