Reuters reported that Polymarket’s newly appointed head of global investigations and intelligence, Shana Bautista, said the prediction market has systems in place to identify unusual trading activity as the U.S. midterm elections draw closer. Bautista, a former Coinbase analyst and former FBI investigator, said the company will continue preventing U.S. users from accessing its international platform in order to comply with the settlement it reached with U.S. regulators in 2022. She also said Polymarket plans to launch a new webpage that will explain how its market integrity review tools work, including machine learning, blockchain analytics, and trade surveillance. The company added that it has referred more than 100 cases to law enforcement authorities.
