Pons founder and lead developer Ozzy said on Sept. 9 that claims the project can change token tax rates after launch are incorrect. According to his statement, the initial Uniswap V4 pool for Pons was set with a 0% tax rate and a 1% Hook fee, and that structure was clearly disclosed in all trades. Ozzy said the unusually high tax figures seen by some users came from routing problems on certain front ends rather than any post-launch change by Pons itself. He added that some terminals mistakenly routed buy and sell orders to high-tax liquidity pools, including so-called vampire pools created by malicious actors. Ozzy said he has asked the relevant terminals to fix the routing issue. He also stated that if users see a tax rate above 1%, it is most likely because the trade was routed to the wrong pool, unless the deployer had set a higher tax rate at launch.

According to ChainCatcher, Pons founder and lead developer Ozzy said in a Sept. 9 post that Pons does not support changing a token tax rate after launch, calling market claims that 「Pons can adjust tax rates after going live」 false.

Pons details its initial fee setup

Ozzy said the initial Uniswap V4 pool for Pons was configured with a 0% tax rate and a 1% Hook fee, with that information clearly disclosed in all trades.

High tax readings tied to misrouted orders

He said some front ends, because of router configuration issues, mistakenly routed buy and sell orders to high-tax liquidity pools. Those pools included vampire pools created by malicious actors, which led to unusually high displayed tax rates. Ozzy said this was not the result of Pons changing its tax rate after launch.

Ozzy added that he has asked the relevant terminals to correct the faulty routing. If users see a tax rate above 1%, he said, it is most likely because the trade was sent to the wrong pool, unless the deployer had set a higher tax rate at launch.
