Uniswap Labs has purchased the PONS token from Memecoin launch platform Pons, Pons announced Thursday, describing the move as a "long-term alignment" that deepens their collaboration. Neither party disclosed the size of the purchase, the price paid, or the wallet address of the buyer. Pons also did not clarify whether Uniswap Labs acquired the tokens through open market buys or received a direct allocation.
Pons is the highest fee-earning Memecoin launch platform on Robinhood Chain. It launched on July 13, with a V2 contract deployed on August 3. The V2 mechanism routes tokens that complete their bonding curve fundraising to Uniswap V4 pools. Robinhood Chain currently accounts for 56.3% of all Uniswap V4 trading volume. Earlier, on August 5, Uniswap Labs launched a competing launch platform, Pools.trade, on Robinhood Chain, which surpassed Pons on its first day.
Data shows Pons generated $5.95 million in fees over the past 24 hours, $28.83 million over seven days, and $40.84 million over 30 days. The platform uses roughly 80% of its protocol fees to buy back PONS tokens, resulting in a cumulative burn of 29.34% of the total supply. PONS is currently trading at $0.5013, up 17.5% in 24 hours, with a market cap of approximately $357 million.
