Prediction market platform Predict.fun has launched a new contract asking whether the SSE Composite Index will close up or down on Aug. 6, 2026. At publication, the implied probability of a higher close stood at 50%, leaving the market evenly split between the two outcomes.
The setup is notable because prediction markets do not often center on the one-day direction of China’s A-share benchmark. The SSE Composite had just closed up 1.47% on Aug. 5 at 3,878.43, according to the source article.
Predict.fun brings a China A-share index into a daily market
The new listing lets users trade on whether the SSE Composite Index will finish the session higher or lower on Aug. 6, 2026. As of publication, the market assigned a 50% chance to an up day, with no clear skew toward either side.
BlockTempo said Predict.fun differs from U.S.-style platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi. The platform launched in December 2025 on BNB Chain. One of its core features is that collateral placed on the platform can continue generating yield, allowing users to participate without giving up capital efficiency.
Platform volume has topped $1.8 billion
The article said Predict.fun has grown quickly since launch. Cumulative trading volume has surpassed $1.8 billion, while volume over the past 30 days reached as high as $534 million. During that period, the platform also absorbed Probable, a peer on BNB Chain, and received public backing from CZ.
On July 7, Predict.fun introduced block trading for larger orders and brought in Susquehanna Crypto, the crypto arm of traditional market maker Susquehanna, to supply liquidity.
Whether the 50% quote matters depends on liquidity
The report said the decision to list an SSE Composite contract also hints at the platform’s user base. While Polymarket and Kalshi have built their main markets around U.S. politics, Federal Reserve decisions, and sports, this BNB Chain-linked platform has put an A-share index on the board, targeting users familiar with that benchmark.
Still, newly listed daily markets often begin with only a handful of trades. In that setting, a 50% price is more likely to reflect an initial quote that has not yet been pushed by meaningful capital, rather than a consensus formed after active trading. The article argued that on niche contracts in particular, the first thing to examine is how much money is actually behind the market.
The SSE Composite had just risen 1.47% on Aug. 5
As for the underlying index, the SSE Composite closed at 3,878.43 on Aug. 5, up 1.47% on the day. It had gained 1.30% over the past five trading sessions, but was still down about 4.03% over one month. The article added that the 4,000 level reached at one point in July has already been lost.
After a 1.47% up day, the next session’s direction is not easy to call. In that sense, the article said, a 50-50 market at least reflects the current lack of a dominant view.
The bigger question is whether this market can build depth
BlockTempo said the more useful thing to watch is not the outcome for the next trading day, but whether this kind of daily stock-index market can develop liquidity. Over the past two years, prediction markets have scaled largely through elections, sports events, and Federal Reserve decisions. Those topics tend to come with a constant flow of information and clear differences in opinion among participants.
Single-day index direction does not necessarily offer the same setup. If Predict.fun’s A-share contract ends up sitting near 50% without meaningful betting activity, the article said that would be an answer from the market in its own right.
The article also stated that the report is for reference only and does not constitute investment advice. It added that the Predict.fun probabilities cited were current at publication, that market pricing can change at any time, and that probabilities in low-liquidity markets should not be treated as market consensus. SSE Composite figures were taken from public market data.
