Shenzhen-based robot chip startup Primotion has released its embodied foundation model, Paimon-0, and said it ranked first across four evaluations: RoboColiseum, RoboCasa365, VLA-Arena, and the IROS Workshop challenge. In RoboColiseum, the model posted a score of 0.7754, while its general manipulation sub-score reached 0.6613, above general multimodal models including GPT-6 Astra. Co-founder Ma Zhiheng said the company uses a "local brain + meta brain" architecture, with the cloud handling task planning and recovery and edge devices taking care of high-frequency closed-loop execution. Primotion said Paimon-0 uses a World Action Model, or WAM, cutting single action-block inference time from about 3,000 milliseconds to 300 milliseconds. The company also introduced its in-house Progress Model, Paimon-Eval, for task progress assessment, with open-sourcing planned for November to December. Founded three months ago, Primotion positions itself as an embodied chip company and said its control system has already been validated by customers.
Shenzhen-based robot chip startup Primotion has launched its embodied foundation model, Paimon-0, and said it ranked first in four evaluations: RoboColiseum, RoboCasa365, VLA-Arena, and the IROS Workshop challenge.
Paimon-0 led four benchmark evaluations
According to Techub News, Paimon-0 scored 0.7754 on the RoboColiseum leaderboard, putting it in first place. Its general manipulation sub-score came in at 0.6613, above general multimodal models including GPT-6 Astra.
Company details its "local brain + meta brain" setup
Primotion co-founder Ma Zhiheng said the company has proposed a "local brain + meta brain" architecture. Under that setup, the cloud is responsible for task planning and recovery, while the edge side handles high-frequency closed-loop execution.
Paimon-0 uses a World Action Model, or WAM, which cuts inference time for a single action block from about 3,000 milliseconds to 300 milliseconds. The company said its self-developed Progress Model, Paimon-Eval, can assess task progress and is scheduled to be open-sourced in November and December.
Founded three months ago, Primotion also disclosed customer validation
Primotion was founded three months ago and positions itself as an embodied chip company. The company said its solution has already been validated by customers. After applying its control system to a client's robotic arm, the worst point-arrival error in the EtherCAT control cycle fell from 30 microseconds in software mode to 152 nanoseconds in FPGA hardware mode, or about 1/200 of the original level.
