Pump.fun, the dominant memecoin launchpad on Solana, has acquired Vyper, a trading execution terminal known for its fast on-chain order flow. The deal brings Vyper's entire team and infrastructure under Pump.fun's umbrella, specifically into its Terminal platform, which already handles high-speed memecoin trading. The move aims to beef up cross-chain execution, especially on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible networks like Base.
Vyper Brand to Fade as Terminal Absorbs Core Tech
Vyper confirmed the acquisition on X (formerly Twitter) this Thursday, stating that its infrastructure will be migrated to Pump.fun's Terminal and the Vyper brand will eventually be phased out. The Vyper team brings deep expertise in on-chain execution systems, which should help Pump.fun cut latency and improve liquidity aggregation across multiple chains.
Second Acquisition in Months: Padre Then Vyper
This isn't Pump.fun's first M&A move. In October 2025, it acquired Padre, which was later rebranded as Terminal. That deal focused on speed; the Vyper acquisition adds cross-chain reliability. Taken together, they form a clear strategy: build a full-stack trading infrastructure that can handle the explosive volume of memecoin launches and trades.
Pump.fun co-founder Alon Cohen noted that despite challenging market conditions, the company continues to expand aggressively. He believes Vyper's infrastructure and talent will meaningfully improve Terminal's ability to handle cross-chain transactions, particularly on EVM-compatible networks like Base.
Nearly 30,000 Tokens Launched in a Single Day
Platform activity has been surging. On February 2, 2026, Pump.fun saw nearly 30,000 tokens launched in one day—a sharp increase from previous months. That metric underscores how fast the memecoin market is growing on Pump.fun, and why the platform needs robust infrastructure to keep up.
Beyond acquisitions, Pump.fun has also been investing in mobile app development and general platform enhancements. With Vyper's tech integrated, Terminal is expected to deliver lower slippage, faster settlement, and more reliable cross-chain execution. In a competitive memecoin landscape, infrastructure depth often determines where liquidity pools concentrate.
