Pump.fun’s token graduation rate climbed to 6.7% last Friday, according to data cited from The Block, marking roughly eight times the average level seen in June. The average over the previous four days also reached 4.7%, well above the 2.5% recorded in the prior week. The rise was directly tied to Pump.fun’s newly introduced BOOST default launch mechanism.
BOOST targets what Pump.fun describes as “dead liquidity.” Previously, about 20% of migration liquidity was permanently locked in PumpSwap pools when tokens graduated and migrated. Under the new setup, that portion of funds is automatically used within five minutes after migration to execute a series of market buys, and the purchased tokens are then fully burned.
The mechanism only takes effect after a token completes bonding. The report said this does not mechanically lift graduation rates, but instead creates immediate post-migration buy pressure and removes supply, giving traders more incentive to push tokens to the graduation threshold. Meanwhile, PUMP is up more than 10% year to date and nearly 60% over the past month, while Bitcoin is down about 25% over the same year-to-date period. PUMP’s market capitalization stands at about $850 million, with fully diluted valuation above $1.8 billion.

BOOST mechanism tied to the increase
The rise in graduation rates was directly linked to Pump.fun’s newly launched BOOST default launch mechanism. BOOST is aimed at what Pump.fun calls “dead liquidity.” Previously, when tokens graduated and migrated, about 20% of migration liquidity was permanently locked in PumpSwap pools.
Under the new mechanism, that portion of capital is automatically deployed within five minutes after migration to carry out a series of market buys. The tokens bought through those orders are then fully burned.
BOOST only takes effect after a token completes bonding. The mechanism does not mechanically raise the graduation rate. Instead, it creates immediate buy pressure after migration and removes supply, which gives traders stronger incentive to push tokens toward the graduation threshold.
PUMP posts gains this year
At the same time, PUMP has risen more than 10% so far this year and nearly 60% over the past month, outperforming Bitcoin’s roughly 25% year-to-date decline. PUMP currently has a market capitalization of about $850 million and a fully diluted valuation of more than $1.8 billion.
